It’s a Hex
Ok last night I was watching my favorite show “Ghost Hunters”, and during the commercials I saw a commercial for “Jonah Hex”… WTF? I had not heard anything on this one. So I decided to look into it. It’s from Warner Bros and director Jimmy Hayward, and starring Megan Fox and Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex. Well its looks pretty good. So check it out and let me know your thoughts.
No news is NOT good news
Well I have to be honest and tell you that I have no news… Is that good news or bad news? I think its bad news, which means there is not allot to talk about in the movie world. I could go on about the iPhone story, or the new Transformers 3 filming in Chicago. I just don’t think that is worth talking about. I have seen enough Transformers once the first one was over, great movies do not need a sequel. So what about the new Nightmare on Elm Street, that looks good but it’s a remake and well no need to get the hype up then be let down. So enjoy the quit and we will see what happens…
Does he really Kick-Ass???
So last night my son and I went to see “Kick-Ass”, and to tell you the truth it was good, but misleading. Kick-ass did not kick much ass. In fact it was like Ass Kick. The character Hit-Girl kicked more asses then any one. I also think a lot of critics are over reacting on her dialogue, I don’t think she said anything that was really too much. She had some very bad comments just not really too much to watch. I never once thought that she was too young to say something like that. The movie was slow in some spots and real fast in others. It took no time to get to the story and then crawled to the finally. It’s not a film for small kids nor is it for some older kids. Was it entertaining? Yes. Could it have been better? That I don’t know. All I can say is it was an enjoying ride, and I would watch it again, on DVD.
How to Train Your Dragon
Well Saturday morning my youngest daughter and I went to see “How to Train Your Dragon” at the Rave theater in 3D. My original thought was to see a movie that if the 3D was not working (I am blind out one eye, and the old red-green glasses did not work on me) then I would not be out that much. My daughter would get the full effect and truly enjoy the film. Well needless to say, the new glasses are great, and worked fine. The movie was great on its own no need for 3D, but it did add a cool effect to the overall picture. I really liked the characters; they worked great with the story. My favorite was the father son story; it truly hit home and was a normal situation for most young men. The cool thing was seeing it in 3D, not worrying about the two lens glasses. I really enjoyed it, not like the 3D of old where everything comes at you from the screen. This was more lifelike, like you were in the movie with them. So go see it, take the kids and enjoy the ride.
Green Lantern has no suit!!!
All day yesterday the word on the web was “Green Lanterns suit will be CG”… oh no. Come on I am really getting tired of the same old grip about CG, “It will be the end of movies as we know it”. Well of course it will so was COLOR, or “It just looks fake”, well a 400,000 Ton space ship orbiting Saturn IS FAKE. Come on it advancement in film, it will find its place and then we can move forward. As far as the Green Lantern suit being CG, I think that it’s great, remember how awesome Spider-man looked in the first film, all CG. So let’s give this a chance and see where it goes..Green Lantern looks to be a truly good ride..
The Square
Have you ever heard of Blue-Tongue Films? You probably have not, well what about two of its brightest stars, Nash Edgerton and his brother Joel? Not them either? Well you should, they have been in several movies from the “Matrix” to “Star Wars”, and now they are the brains behind “The Square”. If you have not seen anything on this one click HERE, it’s a great crime drama that will keep you guessing. I love a good crime drama that just keeps changing direction. This is one of those films and a great ride so find it near you and get a ticket…
Whats the name???
The movie “Dawn of War” which later became “War of the Gods” is now called “Immortals”. Wow how many name changes can a movie have. I do agree that “War of the Gods” sounded like a cheap knock-off of “Clash of the Titans” like those cartoons you find at a flea market. I like the original title “Dawn of War” is great, they should have stuck with that one. Well the movie has a few names attached to it like Luke Evans as Zeus; I think he needs to bulk up for that one. Then Mickey Rourke as King Hyperion I might see that he looks like a king. Well the film is set to hit theaters on November 11 of next year, let’s just hope it’s still called. . . what is it oh yea “Immortals”.
Humans are hunting what???
On July 9th of this year the movie “Predators” will hit the big screen. Director Nimrod Antal and writers Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, bring the story humans hunting the greatest hunters in the Universe. Starring Danny Trejo, Adrien Brody, and Laurence Fishburne, this should be quit the blood bath, for the humans that is. Come on the greatest hunters ever on their home world? This is going to be over quick. You can see a trailer and check out the rest of the cast HERE.
Is that a Space Ship?
Hey the guys over at CHUD showed this and I thought I would pass it on. It appears to be a ship that looks like Abin Sur’s from the Green Lantern movie . I don’t remember much of the ship from the comic, but it does look like a ship. Click HERE to read the story and see for yourself.
